Biotech Explorers Camp

Biotech Explorers Summer Camp

Become a DNA Scientist for a Week

Get ready for the ultimate hands-on STEM experience inside Toronto’s first and only high school biotech program — MetroPrep’s exclusive GENIUS Program.

In this immersive 5-day camp, students explore the world of DNA and biotechnology in a real DNA lab — using the same tools and techniques as real scientists. Campers will extract DNA, learn how genetic traits shape us, and even perform their own biotech experiments.

With expert instructors and access to professional lab equipment, your child won’t just learn — they’ll think, explore, and experiment like a future scientist.

Designed for curious learners aged 10-13, this camp blends serious STEM learning with fun, discovery, and hands-on confidence.

🎁 Bonus: Register by April 30 and get FREE after-care all week!

Exciting Daily Activities

Extract and Preserve Real DNA

Use professional biotech lab tools to extract visible DNA from living cells—then seal the DNA sample in a take-home test tube from the GENIUS lab.

Master Real Biotech Lab Tools

Get hands-on with professional DNA tools — like micropipettes, centrifuges, and gel electrophoresis—used in real DNA research around the world.

Learn to Crack the DNA Code

Use real codon charts to decode DNA like a scientist—then turn your name or message into a secret genetic code and build your own bracelet to take home.

Build-A-Monster: DNA Edition

Use real genetic codes to build your own DNA monster, then discover how changing its DNA changes its traits—just like in real organisms!

What Campers Will Discover

How DNA Really Works

Discover what DNA is made of, how it’s structured, and why it’s the blueprint of life.

Biotech Tools in Action

Use real lab equipment like micropipettes, centrifuges, and PCR machines to work with genetic material.

The Language of Genes

Learn how scientists decode DNA’s three-letter codons to understand traits, build proteins, and fight disease.

Real Lab Science Skills

Build confidence as you extract, amplify, and analyze DNA in a professional biotech lab setting.

Every Camper Receives
