Become a junior DNA Detective for one unforgettable week at Metro Prep’s exclusive GENIUS Biotechnology Lab—home to Toronto’s only high school biotechnology program. Campers aged 10–12 will solve exciting DNA mysteries, crack genetic codes, perform fun hands-on experiments like DNA extraction, fingerprinting, and creating DNA slime. Enjoy thrilling crime-solving scenarios, build teamwork skills, and end the week with an exciting escape-room finale, putting your biotech skills to the ultimate test!
No prior science experience is necessary! This camp is designed specifically for curious, enthusiastic learners aged 10–12. Our expert instructors ensure each camper receives clear, step-by-step guidance through every activity. Campers will quickly gain confidence, master basic biotech concepts, and enjoy discovering science in a fun, supportive environment.
Safety is our top priority! All experiments use kid-safe materials (e.g., non-toxic dyes, fruit-based DNA extraction). Campers wear lab coats and gloves, and activities are supervised by trained instructors. The DNA slime they create and DNA models they build are designed for safe, hands-on learning—and they’ll take these projects home to display!

Campers should bring a reusable water bottle, packed lunch, comfortable closed-toe shoes, and sunscreen. All other supplies and snacks are provided, including lab materials and personalized gear. On Friday, campers will enjoy a special pizza party provided by Metro Prep Academy. Please label any personal items clearly with your child’s name.
